Rainy Paris… two days in a row. I guess this is what winter is like in Paris. Today I’m wearing my J Brand mid wash skinny legs and Zara ankle boots. Not so smart to wear suede. Gosh what was I thinking?
Time to gear up your spring closet! I personally think every woman should have a classic ballerina in their closet. If you don’t have one I recommend this one from Saint Laurent or the traditional Repetto. Style it with your jeans, mini-skirt or why not a mini-dress. Make a festive look more effortless. That’s what I like! Happy Wednesday on you! X

For Pre-Fall 2014 I’d say go for the colors navy and brown. Jumping the guns for Fall 14 you should without a doubt add the orange, as Givenchy is already gearing up with it for their Pre-fall assortment. Moreover, I’m really happy to see that skirts continuing and the idea of pairing it with different socks and stockings makes me feel like home. I’ve always been a big fan of the more hyper-feminine look however I truly like when layering with something chunky (think a knits sweater, straight coat, boots or big bag) to get the urban tweak as the growing Nina Ricci brand are showing us and the Louis Vuitton at the moment in-house design team in their styling. Not to forget sexy side-slit skirts and pleadings seen at Chloé will be big. We’re also hinting lace, curving seems, zips and irresistible shearlings. On the other hand, there’s also the the ultra-slouchy look shown from some fashion houses such as Sonia Rykiel and The Row but if you want to invest in something I’d say a navy mini-skirt in preferably a tweed fabric and then definitely the accessories: over-the-knee-boots (still strong) and a classic leather bag à la Le Coppola from Louis Vuitton. This will be a perfect effortless touch to the more dress up outfit and pair it with a slouchy knit that you should safe (if you already got one last year or get one on the sales now!). Neutrals and big furs (or faux fur) will still be in the picture so it’s also a safe card with a touch pink and blue pastels. More new and interesting are the silk pants, checks and subtly nipped-in waist for Pre-Fall… If you can wait I’d say start the new styling today. At least here in Europe it’s pretty warm and not at all winter. Click on MORE for my favorite Pre-Fall picks and styling recommendations.
Time to check out from work and to check-in for the weekend. Wouldn’t mind a glas of champagne and this buzzer at home. So looking forward to scan some of the exhibitions in Paris. Update on that later! x
Me in The Cut 2011. Wearing a vintage lace dress, hatbag from Hattbaren, hobo bag by Marc Jacobs, vintage sunnies and shoes from Van Cleef (from mom’s closet). Kind of want to be exactly there this exact moment on the hills of Calví in Corsica.
Today it was finally time for the official Yves Saint Laurent film premiere! Shortly, the movie takes part in the 50’s and 60’s. Starting in 1957 when Saint Laurent becomes the “Petit prince de la haute couture” for Christian Dior house, only at the age of 21. A big mission to carry on, which he masters perfectly and then eventually manages to open his own fashion house with Pierre Bergé. From here the film manifests YSL:s passion for design, not always so easy love life and the wild days in the 70’s – a romantic, melanconic and decadent depictured story. If I could wish, just one wish, I would have loved seeing more from the studio and close-ups on the creations. In the end, I’ll give the film 4Y out of 5. What are you waiting for? Go go go!
Traveling back to Paris right this moment! Can’t wait for some beef tartare. Wearing red nail polish “Bordeaux” by Mavala, a vintage blazer in this chocking pink (I should use it more often because it makes me happy), lace dress by DVF, bracelet by Marc Jacobs and bangle from Henri Bendel. See you in Parii!
