MY BIG 30

OutfitsParis

My 30th birthday

Well I did it. Finally I’m 30 and still going strong. Haha I’m just kidding, but actually it feels great. Weirdly enough, I’m not having any crisis like I did when turning 25. Thursday evening my closets friends came by my place to celebrate my last hours as being 29. The little did I know they had arranged a cake with candles in champagne glasses. This photo pretty much shows how much I was cracking up. Love ideas like this. Simply a huge thank you to all of you for making my day so special!!

MEMORIES OF OSCAR DE LA RENTA

Fashion, New YorkPress

Oscar de la Renta moments The thing with a blog is that it is personal. Thus, I have chosen to highlight some of my favorite moments from my time at Oscar de la Renta, where I worked on the footwear and accessories department. Here are some fragments from the behind-the-scenes, shows, press and ad campaigns. I will also tell you this, if you ever touch a Oscar gown, you would want to get married. Even if it’s never been one of your dreams.

FRIDAY BREEZE

Inspiration, MusicNew York

Central Park Yesterday was my big 30 and I had one of my most fantastic days in life, thanks to all my lovely friends and family. And you. I’ve gone through my Oscar archieve and got very nostalgic both from my time at the house and my time in New York. I mean New York is always New York. Therefore, I decided to post something later this weekend and today send you some green Central Park vibes and this song.

WEEKLY STYLE NOTES

WEEKLY STYLE NOTES

This fall is all about effortless comfort and the block heel boots. Not to mention, the croco is hotter than ever this season. When walking into MAXMARA it’s normally the cashmere coats that cast me away, but this time it was actually the shoe salon that draw my full attention. Golden Salice ankle boots are simply the perfect way to lighten up your walk in the dark.

RIP OSCAR DE LA RENTA

RIP Oscar de la Renta

There are days like today, when you wake up realizing life was still an ongoing battle on the other side of the Atlantic, when the rest of us were sleeping. To then find out that there is no tomorrow for some of us. During my night sleep my former employer and court dressmaker designer Oscar de la Renta passed away, after a long battle with cancer. I am very honored to have worked for you and I will never forget when you taught me how tie a bow, or showed me how to make a salsa step, or how you would say “just make something beautiful”, or how those constantly curious brown eyes of yours always would smile back at me giving me hope – moments everything just felt impossible. As a tribute of this tough morning a collage will come during the day. Thank you for everything you taught me. RIP Oscar de la Renta.

LE WEEKEND

France

Deauville October 2014

Right as I got off Eurostar it literally took off again, but this time for Deauville beach, the Basse-Normandie region in northwestern France. Waking up a Sunday morning to 25 degrees and sun, what can I say? It’s pretty much a dream, speaking in October. Then, what’s better than enjoying the day at beach and challenging the frisky waves of the Atlantic? This is the place if you’re looking for a getaway not too far away from Paris. It’s a chic little village with it’s original details captured that allows you to dig deeper to their grand film history, as well as enjoying amazing seafood. Here’s some photos from (probably) the last days of summer.

THE CATCH UP

ParisParis Guide

Paris October 2014Paris October 2014

My friend and casting director Fanny Zakrisson is probably one of the most hilarious persons that I know of. Throughout all the years, from me leaving Stockholm for New York and she for Paris, to me now in Pairs, we’ve managed to maintain contact. Partly because of work, partly because she cracks me up. And speaking of laughing, it’ s so important. If you know me it doesn’t take long before I’m comfortable laughing in someones company – I guess I see life from a comic point of view but I also read that laugh improves brain work and quality of life. Well, how about that?! But for me I guess it’s my good way to survive boring times, embarrassing or awkward moments, an ice-breaker or simply just fun company – as today with fun Fanny. What’s better than a catch up @Hotel Côstes over some fresh veggies?

FOUR LONDON PITSTOPS

London Guide

London guide

When in London there’s four spots you can’t miss:

Andina @1 Redchurch St, London E2. Looking for ceviche when in London? Go East London and try this amazing spot. Tips get a few small dishes if don’t want to leave hungry.

Chiltern Firehouse @1 Chiltern Street Marylebone London W1U.  Probably my favorite openings so far in Marylebone. Go for dinner in a typical sophisticated industrial atmosphere and then pop in for a drink in tthe bar, where you hangout among low-key fashion industry people to A-list celebrities.

Granger  & CO @50 Sekforde Street London EC1R. The latest add on Westbourne Road after Daylesford Organic. Get a massive yet fresh brunch and embrace the laid-back elegance.

Viet Grill @58 Kingsland Rd, London E2. Also an East Londoner hotspot of mine. Think a bit like Indochine in New York but tweak it a bit. Super fresh food, great prices and service. Perfect any day of the week.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

FRIEZE ART FAIR

London, OutfitsUncategorized

London October 2014

I’m back in London for the Frieze London and some other stuff. It’s one of the world’s leading contemporary art fairs that takes place each October in Regent’s Park, actually not far from where I’m staying. It’s an amazing experience in terms of interesting exhibitors, atmosphere and inspiration for any field that you may be in. Lately, fall has been sneaking up on us and me no likie. Thus, I had to get this long ribbed cardigan. What can I say, it was kind of love at first – though I’m still looking for one that goes all the way down to the floor. If you would know of any… Both cardigan and coat from ZARA (later one like 4 years old), silk top & OTHER STORIES, high-waist denim from LEVI’S, belt is mom’s old one so let’s say vintage, monogrammed wallet with chain by SAINT LAURENT and pointy pumps by PRADA. That’s all for tonight! Sleep tight!

ALEXANDER WANG X H&M

Fashion

Alexander Wang x HM collab

Finally the Alexander Wang x H&M photos are out – maybe a dream collaboration for many who’s dreaming of affordable fashion. The collection shows an obvious sport statement tweaked with street casualty and futuristic chic cuts and stilettos. The collection not only makes me wanna do boxing and after-work but lot’s of dancing. Not sure why, but let’s just Wang it in November.
