J’ARRIVE

Finally in Paris! Sorry for my late update but it’s been SO much to do. First I had to get a new home without really knowing too much about the city. Then finding my way around in my new lovely neighborhood (I’m in 2ème) been a fun little adventure yet challanging since I get lost all the time. Anyway, it just strikes me how undoubtedly beautiful every street, corner and building of Paris is and that it must be a dream to growing up here. I’m in architecture heaven so to say. Trying to get myself understood in my poor French since no one barely speaks English has been pretty interesting after discovering most people loves small chatting about nothing (like me) and on the contarary not at all that arrogant as I was told. In the end I’m realizing speaking and hearing another language makes you so crazy tired. It’s like you’re focused 100 percent all the time and then when you come home you just crash on the sofa, which isn’t normal for me. Anyone knows of a good spa let me know! Then 10 boxes of clothes got delivered and I realized I had to get more storage. Trying to figure out interior stores on a Sunday is not anything I recommend since I on my way out (all excited) realized NOTHING is open on Sundays. Luckily they have Ikea too. What was really cool then was that I ran in to Autolib and got a subscription (an electric car that you just pick up from the street and drop off at any station when you’re done, which are literally everywhere). Super easy and chic – wonder why Stockholm doesn’t have it?! Did I forget to mention opening a new bank account, getting a cell and gym card is almost mission impossible?!? Still nothing after two bank meetings. Crossing my fingers they can make it happen tomorrow without any electricity bills (don’t ask). Besides all the paperwork, my hood is super cute with never ending outdoors restaurants and bistros that I’m ready to try. Cheese, wine and chocolate is just the best ever. Shopping is killing it or I’m becoming a shopaholic. More about that SOON!

First to the big question. What am I doing here? I moved here because of a new job opportunity that I’m very excited about. I’m working as a head of buying for denim at a fashion company and so far it’s just been this week. It’s a fantastic move in my career yet scary like hell. But I guess that’s how it should feel?! All your support so far means a lot and I promise you I will need you even more for the good and bad days. Cheesy but TRUE! I promise will try to post as frequently as possible all my Parisian adventures. Thanks to my cutest colleague who snapped this photo of me in Le Marais you get my today’s outfit. I’m wearing my folding Ray-bans, top from & Other Stories, skirt is H&M Trend last year, handbag Valentino RED with Manolo Blahnik heels and grandmom’s necklace with charm. Now I’m crossed-eyed and barely remember my name so I’m off to bed! If you want to ask me anything just go ahead here or my mail, xx
