This weekend we stayed in London and enjoyed the awesome spring weather. If you’re willing to spend £30 and have unlimited Prosecco, Villandry is the place for you. Especially the one on Great Portland Street, kind off the hook a bit but less busy and very nice. As the sun was out we popped the terrace hangout…
After all rumours it’s now confirmed, Hedi Slimane steps down from his title as Creative Director for Saint Laurent, meanwhile Anthony Vaccarello is confirmed his new successor. This is the fourth CD to escape within a year, from Alexander Wang for Balenciaga to Raf Simons for Dior to Alber Elbaz for Lanvin. The signal is clear – it’s more and more about business than endless creativity. The glorious Hedi’s heydays are now over, and I must say rarly has nothing so dramatic and bold been seen on the fashion scene today. Not only did he make the world ‘re-love’ and worship Yves Saint Laurent without the Y again, but also did he manage to change the design language completely with injection of his musical storytelling life, to targeting a younger innovative crew. Controversially, he did just reopened the Haute Coutre house with its location 24 rue de l’Université, which made me think he was trying to bring the authentic Saint Laurent Rive Gauche back (think the more ‘feminine decadent lux’ era). Regardless of what the future has to offer, I’m sure Mr Vaccarello will do a phenomenal work.
When I go back home I always eat so healthy. I know I always complain when being abroad that my stomach feels swollen or that I can’t find enough organic food in my deli, and partly that is true and partly I believe is psychological. If you’re looking for some of the best salads in Stockholm and some health booster I suggest Kaffeverket in Vasastan, like this veggie option I had last weekend. Enjoy!

Even though we set the clock one hour ahead it’s still freaking chilly out there, so before breaking into new summer kicks I’ll make the seasonal transfer in my boots. These pointy bordeaux colored Jensen in calf leather from ACNE STUDIOS are brining some interest to the lighter denim washes I prefer this time of the year rather than the otherwise obvious black option. Also works great to a LBD!

This weekend was absolutely fabulous for no reason, and at the same time that was really the reason. Makes perfect sense? We spent hours of hours out in the sun on several terraces, having our first Aperol Spritz and rosé for the season, talking about everything and nothing at the same time, watching people coming and going, having the brasserie owners kindly asking us to pay the check before it gets too late, as they wanted to go home to their families… The fact that spring is knocking on the door is simply making me too happy. All of a sudden, I just want to plan my next terrace trip! How was your weekend?
